Studio Drê Magalhães — Knots Transformed Into Authorial Pieces.

Founded in São Paulo, Brazil in 2014, Studio Drê Magalhães was born from a passion for handcrafting discovered through a tradition passed from mother to daughter, beginning with knitting and crochet. Although this kind of work is often associated with something made by grandmothers, designer Andreza Magalhães always searched for ways to bring these materials, so full of references and history, into a new dimension: one that could offer personality, originality and a genuine connection to the past through the handmade.

In her search for materials that could produce the weight and expressiveness she was looking for, Andreza realised that wool and crochet thread did not have the right body for the effect she had in mind. It was then that she found rope, which became the brand's most defining material and creative foundation. Combined with cotton, ceramic, resin, wood and metal, rope gave her pieces the texture, presence and character she had been looking for.

Every creation is made entirely by hand, featuring intricate knots, weaves and compositions that celebrate simplicity, originality and timeless craftsmanship. The studio's collections draw inspiration from architecture, design and colour, exploring how form and material can turn an everyday object into something authorial and unique. The studio is based in Rua Oscar Freire, in the Jardins neighbourhood of São Paulo.
