Founded in São Paulo, Flavia Aranha is a Brazilian fashion brand whose entire creative process is rooted in the connections between people, territory and nature. The brand's core activities take place at its atelier in Perdizes, São Paulo, where a team of 28 people work across design, pattern-making, cutting, sewing, marketing and administration. The process is deeply collaborative and interdisciplinary: each new piece passes through the hands of pattern makers and seamstresses who study the best finishes for every fabric, recognising that each material has its own character. This proximity between team members, each with their own technical expertise, is what gives Flavia Aranha's pieces their distinct identity and quality.
The brand also works through a network of artisan communities across Brazil, a horizontal relationship that values traditional knowledge and handcraft techniques, giving space to the creativity inherent in each craft. Clothes made by many hands, across many biomes.
One of the brand's most defining signatures is its natural dyeing practice. Flavia Aranha uses colour sourced from tree bark, fruits, leaves and roots, exclusively from renewable origins. The dyeing atelier also functions as a research laboratory, exploring new techniques with a circular design lens: what is residue for one becomes raw material for another.
The brand works primarily with native Brazilian species such as Pau-Brasil, Crajiru, Urucum, Macela, Erva-Mate, Romã and Jabuticaba, reconnecting with ancestral dyeing knowledge that was largely forgotten after the rise of synthetic dyes. Botanical printing, one of its most celebrated techniques, is a slow and meticulous manual process done entirely by hand, one piece at a time.
