Sergio Rodrigues

Sergio Rodrigues (1927 - 2014) is the biggest name in Brazilian furniture design and is known in Brazil and abroad as a creator of genuine Brazilian furniture. He was born in Rio de Janeiro and understood the meaning of the word design at an early age when he designed and manufactured his own trolleys, soldiers and airplanes.

Over the course of his sixty-year career, he created some 1,200 models that were used to furnish palaces, government offices, diplomatic missions, hotels, theaters, businesses and homes. The versatility of his work is based on his ability to understand the needs of each architectural space and to design furniture with grace and soul, using the means available at the time.
