Founded in 2017 and developed in Portugal, Akana is a jewellery brand created by visual artist and designer Erika Lima. With over 20 years of experience in the world of jewellery and accessories, the brand explores colours, shapes, and materials without boundaries. Each collection is born from a dialogue between art, cultural heritage, and human connection.

Every Akana piece is 100% handmade, using an exclusive multi-strand threading technique that delivers strength, flexibility, and a flawless finish. Materials are chosen with care: natural gemstones, Murano glass, ceramics, and steel closures plated with five layers of 22K gold, ensuring lasting durability and beauty.

The project is based in Portugal, but reaches beyond borders. Many collections incorporate details crafted in partnership with skilled artisans from Colombia and Ecuador, honouring traditional techniques and supporting social projects that empower local communities. A genuine dialogue between designer and makers, working in unison with creativity as the only limit.

Akana's production is intentionally limited and exclusive, avoiding waste from the very start. Pieces are 100% reused and reinvented with new colours, shapes, and styles, in a cycle where nothing is lost and everything is transformed.
