Born in Lisbon in 1989, Marta Piedade’s vivid interest in art and culture led her to graduate in Product Design at the prestigious Art School, Escola Secundária Artística António Arroio. She then furthered her studies in Classic Studies at Faculdade de Letras, University of Lisbon.
In 2018 she started a new project, creating her brand “Martapiedadeillustration”. Her main inspiration in nature, going through animals, plants and forms that have a visual interest and appeal.
She likes to work with watercolour, with its fluidity and natural way the colours blend rawly on paper. Her illustrations gain life as the colours spread and transform, no hard lines are limiting the drawing, making it more raw and organic.
