Designed for a competition for the Jockey Club of Rio de Janeiro, it was considered by the board as “Too Modern”.

Some time later, Rodrigues exhibited the furniture in OCA, his store in Ipanema – frequented at the time by Oscar Niemeyer, who took two units as a gift to his daughter who was going to get married. The armchair was named after its first buyer.
